I'm published under various pen names, but mainly nowadays as Anna Jacobs, writing historical sagas and modern family relationships novels alternately.

In November 2009, my 47th novel was published. 'In Focus' is a modern novel and I got the idea while driving along a motorway in England, so whipped out my notebook and scribbled it down. Don't ask me where that idea came from - I'm just glad it came, because I enjoyed writing the story.

My latest historical novel is 'Farewell to Lancashire', which came out in hardback in 2009, and will be coming out in Australia and New Zealand in trade paperback in 2010 with a different cover.

I've always loved history - not the political stuff that I had to study at school and university, but social and economic history - how people lived, played, earned their daily bread. I have a wall of research books aimed at understanding the people of the past - I sometimes wonder what they'd think of me and my tales.
